Somatic Breathwork is specially designed to elicit a somatic experience. “SOMA” means body and in latin Somatic means “of the body”.
Over the past few years, scientific research has proven that as humans we store memories, experiences, and emotions on a cellular level. When we perceive information in our external world, that information gets processed through our nervous system and impacts the way we respond and interact with the world around us.
Somatic Breathwork is an opportunity to release and stored emotions, patterns, and conditioning that stand in the way of us fully showing up to our lives. In doing so, we can create new habit and processing loops moving forward.
In order to create lasting changes, we have to make changes on a physiological level, otherwise our bodies will continually go back to the processes that are well-known and readily available.
About the class
Somatic Breathwork is done lying down, eyes closed. We will utilize two types of breath, the first half of class is a rigorous breathwork, while the second half of class is relaxing and calming. The class lasts about one hour.
